Stay cool this summer at Oklahoma's best swimming hole - Blue Hole Park. This seasonal park offers a crystal-blue, ice-cold swimming spot that's surrounded by gorgeous scenery on all sides. It's located on privately owned property in the town of Salina and is open to the public for a daily fee. Camping is also available, as well as a concession stand, and there are even cabins for rent.
Check it out below:
Blue Hole Park is located 7 miles east of Salina and can be a little difficult to find. Be on the lookout for signs off Kenwood Street and then follow along to the parking lot.
Once you arrive, you'll quickly see what all the hype is about. It's rare to find such a clear swimming spot in Oklahoma with all of our red dirt in the state.
The swimming hole is spring-fed and clear enough to see your feet and rocks on the bottom.
We highly recommend wearing water shoes to get around. Also, be sure to load up on chairs, towels, and a picnic lunch.
Outside food and drinks are allowed but if you would rather purchase food, they do have a concession stand that serves burgers, hot dogs, ice cream, and more.
The price is only $10 per vehicle, so it's a very affordable summer activity for the whole family.
The water here is cold...like very cold. You'll also find little waterfalls and shallow areas to explore next to the deeper swimming hole.

Another great swimming hole that features spring-fed water is Gage Artesian Beach in northwest Oklahoma. It is the largest outdoor swimming pool with concrete sides that is fed water from a nearby lake. Click here to read more about it.
