Beavers Bend State Park is located in the mountainous region of southeast Oklahoma along the shores of Broken Bow Lake and the Mountain Fork River.

Activities include hiking, biking, marina, boating, water skiing, trout fishing, swim beaches, canoe and paddleboat rental, horseback riding stables, train rides and miniature golf.

Beavers Bend has become a very popular year-round trout fishing destination. This is the perfect place to try out fly fishing.

About five miles of the Lower Mountain Fork River is within Beavers Bend State Park, where boat access is unlimited. The river is also a popular canoe and kayak float trip destination from spring through fall. The scenery is spectacular.

A year-round naturalist and a well-stocked nature center make possible a program lineup that includes campfire programs on the banks of the Mountain Fork River, nature hikes, arts and crafts classes, water sports, bingo, sunset hikes, nature films, and astronomy outings.

Early mornings in the state park are absolutely breathtaking. Sit outside of your cabin or tent and watch in awe as the fog hovers over the lake.

Golfers will find themselves in paradise at one of the nicest courses in the state. Nestled in the foothills of the Kiamichi Mountains, the long, narrow course is surrounded by pine forests and the deep-blue waters of Broken Bow Lake.

Or for a more rugged experience, try camping in a state-of-the-art camp ground or bring the R.V. and hook-up to the facilities in the campground.

The David L. Boren Trail offers 16 miles of hiking trails with 4 miles of multi-purpose trails that wander along ridge tops, over creek bottoms, through tall stands of timber, and into areas so remote one can almost experience what early-day explorers must have felt upon seeing the Ouachita National Forest for the first time.

Escape into the serenity of nature and follow the Mountain Fork River as it flows from the base of Broken Bow Lake through the park below.

If your idea of a fun afternoon involves driving across the terrain without a paved street in sight, the Beavers Bend area is your off-road paradise. Miles and miles of forest roads meander through the Ouachita National Forest and the Honobia Creek Wildlife Management area where ATVs and other all-terrain vehicles are welcome. Because of the crystal-clear water at Broken Bow Lake, it is one of the top destinations in the state for scuba diving.
