On a hot summer day, there's nothing better than cooling off in a local swimming hole. Some of the best swimming holes are man-made, and this one near Cincinnati is no exception. Check out The Beach Waterpark:
Welcome to The Beach!
This man-made swimming spot has its own beach, a pool with waves like the ocean, and plenty of thrilling waterslides. You'll want to splash and play all day! It's located in Mason, just 30 minutes north of Cincinnati.
There are tons of attractions at this 35-acre park, and in you might even feel as though you've found a pretty, secluded swimming hole.
Paradise Cove is a little oasis surrounded by palm trees and waterfalls.
Sit by the pool or go for a swim - the water here is heated to pleasant 86 degrees. It's the perfect man-made swimming hole for lounging and relaxing.
Then, check out the Big Surf Wave Pool. It's almost like being in the ocean.
The 750,000-gallon pool has its very own sandy beach and the waves come rolling in just like the ocean. The pool starts at just a few inches of water and slowly progresses to larger depths, so it's perfect for swimmers of all ages.
Rent a shady cabana with your own personal lounge chairs and VIP service.
Cabana rentals include dining tables, lounge chairs, complimentary bottles of water, and a special VIP menu that allows you to order food and have it served right to your cabana.
Hop on a tube and float down the Kokomo Lazy River.
The 1,200-foot-long river meanders through the park at about five miles per hour. Float along and chat with friends, or just bob and splash in the water as it gently carries you downstream.
For a faster-paced ride, head down Runaway Rapids.

If you're an adrenaline junkie, you'll find plenty of thrills at The Beach Waterpark, too.
Hop on one of several waterslides that will get your heart pounding before you plunge into the pool below.
With eight different slides to choose from, you can spend the entire day trying them all out.
From the 1,000-foot-long Cowabunga Curl (shown here) to the terrifying five-story drop off The Cliff, you'll definitely get your fill of thrills.
It will take you the entire day to discover all of the attractions at this huge waterpark.
Play a game of basketball in the High Tide Pool, gather friends for some beach volleyball, and play some games in the Family Arcade.
All-day admission to The Beach is just $19.99 for kids and $24.99 for adults, but if you're planning on visiting several times this year, you'll save money with a season pass.
The park is open seven days a week, starting at 10 a.m. through June and July. August hours vary - check its website for details.
