You don't have to wait until springtime to take in the beauty of an Ohio garden. The Buckeye State is home to several stunning parks and gardens that make you feel as if you've stepped foot into a fairy tale. (Be sure to check out this list.) Cox Arboretum and Gardens MetroPark is a hidden gem you probably haven't explored if you're not from the Dayton area. Home to beautiful woodlands, colorful flowers, nature trails, whimsical towers and more, it's perfect for exploring year-round. Check it out:
Within the Five Rivers Metroparks system, Cox Arboretum is a gorgeous park and garden that will enchant locals and passerby alike.
You'll find it at 6733 N Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH 45449.
With multiple nature trails, specialty gardens and even a butterfly house, there's always something beautiful to explore and photograph.

There are more than 180 acres to explore. From April 1 – October 31, you can visit Cox Arboretum from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
From November 1 – March 31, you can visit from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
You'll find plenty of whimsical benches to sit on and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
The onsite Zorniger Education Center is also open year-round. It features several programs, exhibits and workshops that showcase the science and history of the gardens and preserved natural areas.
While you're here, you'll want to climb the 65-ft. tree tower. It features stunning views of the garden's grounds.
Please note: Dogs are welcome at Cox Arboretum, however they must be kept on a leash.
Keep your eyes peeled for turtles, ducks, frogs and more at Cox Arboretum. There's always some sort of friendly face wandering about.
