Ohio is home to all kinds of underrated parks and stunning natural scenery. But it's also home to an indoor natural oasis that you can visit year-round.
If you've never been to Krohn Conservatory within Cincinnati's Eden Park, you're truly missing out. It's a lesser-known gem that you can visit any time of year. No matter the season, you can enjoy exotic plants, the "rainforest" and other nature-related marvels here.
This stunning conservatory was built in the early 1930s. The aluminum and glass walls are eye-catching enough, but it's nothing compared to the oasis inside.
Inside, you'll find more than 3,500 plant species from around the world. The Desert House (pictured) features a variety of cacti.
And the Orchid House (pictured) features beautiful orchids year-round.
Another permanent exhibit you can observe anytime of year is the Tropical House. It features several exotic plants you wouldn't normally see in Ohio.
As the conservatory's largest room, it makes you feel like you're exploring a rain forest. (Which is pretty cool, especially in the dead of winter in Ohio.)
Throughout the exhibits, you'll find several benches to sit and rest and take in the beauty of your surroundings. (And with paved trails, the entire facility is handicap accessible.)
There's even a beautiful waterfall within the Tropical House that's a popular backdrop for visitor group photos.
The seasonal Butterfly Shows are especially popular in the summer months. Pictured is 2016's display, "Butterflies of the Caribbean."
This year's Butterfly Show, "Majestic Monarch," will take place daily on March 25 - June 18. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for youth ages 5 - 17. (Children 4 and under are free.)
Currently, Krohn Conservatory is featuring "Blooms on the Bayou" from January 21 - March 12 on Tuesday - Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for youth ages 5 - 17.
Krohn Conservatory is located at 1501 Eden Park Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45202. Have you ever been here before? If so, share your photos and experiences with us!
