Over the last two years, Cincinnati has fallen in love with our very own celebrity hippo, sweet Fiona. She, along with her mother Bibi, and the other incredible animals at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden make this Queen City destination a favorite. If you have a special place in your heart for the hippos and other animals at the zoo, then you'll want to check out this series of special events that will take place this summer. You can enjoy breakfast with the hippos or other animals at the zoo, and this unique experience should top any animal lover's bucket list.
The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is not only one of the top attractions in the Queen City, but also one of the best zoos in the entire world. We are incredibly lucky to have it right in our backyard - and now you can experience it a whole new way.
By now, everyone knows and loves the prematurely born baby hippo, Fiona - though she isn't really a baby anymore at two years old! Hippo Cove is always a popular spot at the zoo, and you now have a chance to see mom and her baby before the crowds arrive.
Breakfast with the Animals events began last year and will continue this summer. Dates are now listed on the zoo's website (linked below) and tickets are already on sale for this one-of-a-kind event.
You can choose which animal to dine with, but the hippos are sure to be a favorite. These breakfasts take place in the morning before the zoo opens to the public, and times vary by event.
Along with the hippos, there are also events that include manatees, elephants, lions, painted dogs, giraffes, and gorillas. Each event includes a buffet breakfast, drinks, and admission to the park for the day.
When you arrive and have settled in with your breakfast, the animals will be waking up and given enrichment treats so they're active right before your eyes. The zoo staff will share plenty of interesting information about the animals, as well as personal stories of interactions with them.
These unique breakfasts are held on specified dates throughout the summer. Keep in mind that the events are geared toward adults, and each time can accommodate up to 35 people. If you're interested, be sure to check out the link below for more information.
The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden has long been a beloved destination in the Queen City for locals and visitors alike, and now you can experience it in an entirely new way with these unique breakfast events with the animals.
