There's nothing like a short hike in Ohio nature to rejuvenate your senses and recharge your mind. Here in Ohio, we have several parks and nature preservers to explore. Indian Mound Reserve in Cedarville, Ohio is one of the most scenic, little-known places to hike in the state. With fairly easy trails and lots to see, it's a great place to explore with the whole family.
Home to several trails and plenty to explore, Indian Mound Reserve is a true hidden gem in Greene County.
You'll find this beautiful park along U.S. 42 in Cedarville, Ohio.
Although the park is divided into eight different trails, we recommended taking the Gorge Trail and Rim Trail, which covers about 3 miles total, one-way.
There's much to see in this beautiful park and taking these two connecting trails ensures that you see it all.
Along the Gorge Trail, the Mound Trail branches off, leading you to Williamson Mound.
You can climb the mound via the stairway and observe the surrounding area from the top of the mound.
Along the Rim Trail, you'll find Cedar Cliff Falls, which features a wonderful boardwalk that let's you see the falls up close from different angles.
Note: AllTrails rates both the Gorge Trail and Rim Trail as easy, so you can cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time.
In the springtime, the falls are framed by colorful wildflowers that make the view unbelievably picturesque.
You'll definitely want to bring your camera along for this adventure!
