You don't have to travel to Mt. Everest to feel like you're on the top of the world. In fact, you can take an easy hike of under half a mile in North Dakota to one of the most majestic views in the entire state. You'll feel like you're looking over the entire world from this spot, and it's easy enough for pretty much anyone to do.
The trail is located in the South Unit of North Dakota's beautiful Theodore Roosevelt National Park near Medora.
The trail is only 0.4 miles long and will take you through some spectacular sights of the badlands.
It's the view at the end that makes it all worth it. This trail is called the Wind Canyon Trail, and here is why.
The payoff after the hike is the view of the Wind Canyon, shaped by the river and wind as it eroded the land over time. This view will make you feel like you're standing on top of the world as you look out on the prairie.
It doesn't get much more mesmerizing than this view, and you can only find it in North Dakota!
