Oh, la la! If you have yet to discover the magic of Pearson's Falls and Glen, then prepare to be positively wowed when you visit this 268-acre park-like reserve nestled deep in a gorge just outside of Saluda, North Carolina. Let's just say that if you find yourself wondering about "waterfalls near me" in North Carolina, you'll be positively delighted to have discovered this gem.
The Glen is a meticulously maintained natural sanctuary filled with moss-covered bridges, natural footpaths, and inspirational views of Colt Creek, a cascading mountain stream at the heart of the park's appeal.
An easy, 0.3-mile trail leads visitors to the park's 90-foot stair-stepped waterfall known as Pearson's Falls.
Pearson's Falls and Glen is named for the Pearson family, who owned the property until 1931 when it was purchased by the Tryon Club.
Now still privately owned (by the Tryon Club) and maintained with funds generated by a small entry fee, Pearson's Falls and Glen is a lush wonderland begging to be explored.
In fact, it's so loved by locals and those living within reasonable driving distance that annual passes are among the most sought-after entry choices.
For those who love to reconnect with nature but aren't up for a hike to that takes an entire morning (or day, for that matter) - as with some North Carolina waterfalls - a visit to Pearson's Falls is an ideal decision.
The Tryon Club has placed several benches along the trail, providing the perfect way to appreciate the views to the fullest.
During the summer months, this beautiful North Carolina waterfall can become a popular place to be. To avoid crowds, try to visit early in the morning or during a weekday rather than on the weekends.
See the official Pearson's Falls and Glen website for hours of operation and guidelines for visiting.
It's located just south of Saluda, North Carolina.
As a point of reference, Pearson's Falls and Glen is less than two hours from Charlotte, 45 minutes from Asheville, two hours from Boone, and 2.5 hours from Winston Salem.
The hours change seasonally. You can view admission fees and more when you visit the Pearson's Falls website. Have you enjoyed this waterfall hike in North Carolina?
