North Carolina diners are lucky to have many excellent options when choosing waterfront dining. So many, in fact, that it's hard to know which one to choose when you're feeling like getting out of the house and enjoying a tasty meal with an ocean view. The Oceanic is located at 703 S. Lumina Avenue, Wrightsville Beach.

The front of the restaurant is pretty, but it's when you see what's off the back of the restaurant that you'll get really excited.

Like many waterfront restaurants, Oceanic offers a deck for dining with a view.

But this deck isn't typical. It stretches all the way down the beach and right into the ocean!

The restaurant restored the historic Crystal Pier in 2013.

It's the only wooden pier in town, and it extends about 475 feet into the ocean. In addition to providing dining for the restaurant, it acts as a public pier for fishing.

You'll dine with the waves of the Atlantic Ocean literally right at your feet.

Does it get any better than that?

It's pretty hard to compete with this view...

...but the chef at Oceanic has done just that.

Oceanic Restaurant sources the freshest seafood from local fishermen every day.

The Chipotle Atlantic Salmon and Shrimp is fresh and flavorful.

The Ahi Tuna Poke Plate with red chile sesame sauce, seaweed veggie blend and pickled ginger is another great seafood option from the menu.

Every item on the menu is sourced locally whenever possible. Oceanic Restaurant is a dedicated member of the Wrightsville Beach community.

For lunch, try a big bowl of spicy seafood gumbo.

The gumbo at Oceanic is rich and hearty.

You really can't go wrong with any item on the menu.

Your biggest problem will be deciding what to order!

Sipping a cocktail as the sun sets over the pier? Yes, please.

The desserts here are simply decadent.

You'll definitely want to save some room.

As the hour grows late, you're treated to the most incredible sunset.

Just as you thought the scenery couldn't get better, Mother Nature turns everything into soft shades of pink and lavender.

Oceanic is clearly a great choice if you're looking for a romantic dinner spot.

That whole "long walks on the beach with the sunset" thing might be cliche...but you can't deny that it's super romantic.

Oceanic Restaurant also serves Sunday Brunch from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
