The highly anticipated H20BX waterpark just recently opened in lower Currituck County and it's already surpassing all expectations. The $46 million dollar project adds a much needed thrill to an area mainly known for its quaint, sleepy beach towns and pristine natural beauty. Ready to check out North Carolina's newest waterpark? H20BX seeks to recreate all the legendary stories, tales, and truths the Outer Banks is so fondly known for. From wild horses, pirates, windswept dunes and miles and miles of untouched shoreline; H20BX compacts it all into a (not so small) space allowing adventurers, visitors and locals to experience the OBX in new, modern fashion. The park features 30 rides, slides and attractions. There's also leisure options like retro-style amenities. Some of the most thrilling rides in the park include the Dune Runner, a 70 foot tall tube ride with three different drops. The Midnight Marauder is an enclosed slide that runs more than 500 feet in length. The Paradise Plunge is a whooping nine-story free-fall slide, riders are dropped from the launch capsule and experience a jolting near free fall before landing in a 360-degree horizontal enclosed loop. Speaking of pirates, naturally there's also 'The Plank,' you'll have to brave and walk waiting on the floor to drop and surprising those with a 90' free fall.
While there's a thrilling side to this park, there's also plenty of more relaxing and easier options. The Cat-5 Bay Wave Pool recreates being at the beach with some of the largest man-made waves on the east coast. There's also the Twin Tides Family Wave Beach great for small children. The Teach's Tide adventure river gently flows a 1,000 feet, perfect for taking a break (and catching your breath) between the more daring rides.
For recently opening, H20BX already has so much to offer for grown ups, teenagers, kids, families, and anyone looking for something different. General admission tickets are $49.99 and child tickets are $44.99. Cabana rentals, locks, food, etc. are available for an additional amount.
