Waterfalls in New York aren't too hard to come by, the only problem is that sometimes they can be a bit difficult to actually get to. We love getting a look at these powerful natural wonders, but not all of us have the time or energy to endure some of the longer hikes that are required of us to reach these scenic falls. Leading you to a huge waterfall that's right in the heart of one of our favorite cities, check out why you'll want to go for a walk over this one bridge in Rochester.
Right along the Genesee Riverway Trail by our favorite brewhouse, the Pont De Rennes Bridge offers the best view of Rochester's High Falls.
A nearly 100-foot waterfall along the Genesee River, you won't believe your eyes that something like this could be right here in the middle of one of our state's largest cities. It's a sight to be seen!
858-feet long, the Pont De Rennes Bridge spans across one of the most scenic points of the river and has a beautiful view of the gorge below.
Originally built back in 1891, the bridge was once used for cars to connect the city's two streets, closing to all vehicles in 1977.
Reopening in 1982 as a pedestrian bridge, the new Pont De Rennes bridge is just one piece of Rochester's effort to build up the area surrounding High Falls.
A great stop to make while exploring the Genesee Riverway Trail or the perfect quick stroll to take on a beautiful day, you'll love how accessible this bridge is.
And the best part? If you happen to work up an appetite, you can just walk on over to the Genesee Brew House where you'll continue to have sweeping views of High Falls.
Named after Rochester's sister city in France, go for a walk over the Pont De Rennes bridge to get the best view possible of High Falls.
To reach the Pont De Rennes Bridge, you can access it from either right near the Genesee Brew House near St. Paul Street or choose to walk over from Platt Street. The Pont De Rennes Bridge is just one of eight pedestrian bridges you'll pass along the entirety of the Genesee Riverway Trail, so if you like the views here - it's worth exploring the rest of the trail!
