When it comes to spending time outside in the Finger Lakes where you find yourself in wide open spaces with views of the water, our mind often wanders to locations like our wonderful wineries. But what if I told you that there was a charming little farm overlooking Skaneateles Lake that's guaranteed to give a relaxing day out in the sun? Sounds enticing doesn't it? Hiding right in plain sight along the western side of the lake, you need to visit Lockwood Lavender Farm.
Established in 1854, this breathtaking lavender farm has been in the Lockwood family for five generations.
Home to the annual Finger Lakes Lavender Festival, Lockwood Lavender Farm is an incredible place to spend a day outside.
Covering 120 acres, the farm does a spectacular job of preserving the agricultural heritage of the Finger Lakes.
Planting lavender for nearly 15 years, the farm harvests over 2,000 plants of 20 different varieties.
On the farm you'll be able to find the Drying Barn, where if you step inside you'll be able to shop around for different lavender products.
There are so many amazing things that can be made with lavender and you can find a variety of them inside of Lockwood's Drying Barn. From lavender bath salts and soaps to candles and even honey, this is the perfect place to stop during the summer if you're looking to get someone a unique gift they're sure to love.
