As Buffalonians, we may not be the closest to New York State's mountainous regions but don't let that fool you into thinking there aren't plenty of incredible hiking adventures waiting for you nearby. In the past, here at Only In Buffalo we've talked about how you can make the scenic drive out to our state's most breathtaking gorge trail that's not too far from the city. If you've been curious as to what other unique hikes you can experience, then let us introduce you to Hemstreet Farm.
Less than 20 miles from the heart of Buffalo, Hemstreet Farm Llamas is a small-town adventure worth stepping outside of the city to experience.
Built on the Buffalo Creek Reservation of the Seneca Nation, the farm you see before you today dates all the way back to 1825 and has since been turned into quite the unique family-friendly attraction.
All throughout the year, Hemstreet Farm Llamas welcomes visitors who are interested in learning more about llamas and spending time on the farm with these friendly animals.
A charming chance to call a farm of llamas your friends for the day, there's one thing especially wonderful about this farm and it's the fact that it offers delightful hiking adventures!
That's right! All throughout the year, Buffalonians can make the quick drive over to East Aurora to go hiking through Western New York's rural scenery.
As long as you're at least 8-years-old, you'll be able to lead your own llama on this exciting hike — generally taking about an hour and a half from start to finish.
