As New Yorkers, one of the many perks that we get to enjoy while living here in the Empire State is the fact that no matter what region you call home, you'll always find yourself surrounded by incredible wildlife. With that said, stepping outside your front door and running into a furry but friendly face isn't the only animal encounter that you'll be able to experience within New York! While at this point you've most likely visited one of our many zoos, it's now time to cross off one of our state's newest attractions from your bucket list — take a look.
Out by the small town of Chittenango, The Wild Animal Park in New York is one of our most family-friendly zoos that people travel all around the state to come and visit.
The Wild Animal Park is home to animals like Grizzly Bears, Gray Wolves, African Leopards, and Jaguars, to Camels, Red Kangaroos, Silver Foxes, Alpacas, Micro Mini Pigs, and so many others. While it was recently announced that The Wild Animal Park was given the approval to open back up for foot traffic, during such unprecedented times, the park was able to come up with a new safe, socially distant activity — a drive-thru safari!
Currently, on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., visitors can drive through the entire animal park to enjoy the view of all the different animals and the surrounding scenery, an activity that's currently set to remain open and operating through the month of June.
If you're ready to experience New York's first drive-thru safari, get in your car and hit the road because it's time to go for a drive through The Wild Animal Park in Chittenango!
