Even though it’s technically still winter, we seem to be slowly inching our way towards spring. We’ve had a pretty good run of decent temperature days lately, so it’s the perfect time to get out and spend some time outdoors. This delightful state park has a wonderful little sandy beach that’s perfect this time of year, and you don't have to drive all the way to Florida to see it. Let’s check it out.
Fontainebleau State Park is just a short drive across the Causeway, over in Mandeville.
The 2,800 acre park is the perfect spot if you’re looking to spend some time outdoors.
Tons of sprawling green space, beautiful water views, nature trails and so much more. Since it’s nestled up along the shores of Lake Pontchartrain, you can expect some truly spectacular views.
There’s a pier that you can walk out on to really get a great view of the lake.
The white sandy beach is the perfect spot to sink your toes into and catch up on that book you’ve been meaning to read.
Even though the lake may still be a bit too chilly for swimming, you’re sure to have a memorable and relaxing experience just laying out on this beautiful white sandy beach.
If you have the chance, stick around until dusk. The sunsets over Lake Pontchartrain are truly mesmerizing!
