When you live in the city, you may find it is hard to get away and truly immerse yourself in nature. Fortunately, there is one hiking trail in New Mexico that will get you outdoors and away from the bustle of city life. Plus, this hiking trail will provide the most mesmerizing views of Santa Fe. The Sun Mountain Trail is a short hiking trail in New Mexico, but one where the journey is worth every single step.
The Sun Mountain Trail is located just outside of Santa Fe. This trail is only 1.6-miles but it’s a pretty tough hike. Beginners and younger children may have a difficult time climbing certain areas of this trail.
The Sun Mountain Trail starts out fairly easy and flat. You'll definitely want to take advantage of this terrain.
During these easier areas, take your time and enjoy the vegetation around you. You’ll find lots of cacti surrounding the trail, so watch your step and stay on the path.
Make sure you pay attention as you climb. This is a fairly busy trail and you’ll want to watch out for others enjoying this beautiful area.
This hiking trail in New Mexico gradually gets steeper and rockier. Wear proper shoes, bring plenty of water, and take your time as you climb.
However, despite the more difficult climb, every single step is worth it. The views along the entire trail are remarkable.
But, just wait until you get to the top. You will experience some of the most incredible and breathtaking views of Santa Fe.
It is hard to find views like this anywhere else. Take a break, relax, and enjoy the beauty of the area before you begin your descent.
