Looking for ways to stay warm this winter? Soaking in hot water is one way to feel warm and cozy on an otherwise chilly day. If a hot bath or a hot tub doesn't quite hit the spot for you, then these hot springs to visit in winter in New Mexico just might do the trick.
Thankfully, New Mexico is home to some incredible natural hot springs, whether you're looking just off the trail in the middle of the forest...
Like Jordan Hot Spring, seen here.
...or at a fancy pants hot spring resort.
For example, the exquisite Ojo Spa Resort near Santa Fe.
But today, we're going to take a look at one hot spring that meets these two places in the middle: Jemez Hot Springs.
Located about an hour north of Albuquerque in Jemez Springs, this hot spring is the ideal relaxing destination for a quick soak.
The mineral waters here - which are a combination of calcium, magnesium, potassium, and more - are heated at a deliciously warm temperature, ranging between 100 and 104 degrees.
It's a popular destination throughout the year, but in winter, it's one of the coolest ways to warm up.
If you're lucky, you might get to witness snow fall during a soak here...
...but you'll definitely get to soak in the hot waters while surrounded by snow.
