If you'd like to combine a warm soak with a short hike and beautiful views, head to Spence Hot Springs in northern New Mexico. As you'll soon learn, these hot springs in New Mexico are the place to go if you'd like to decompress and take in stunning scenery too.
Spence Hot Springs is located just over seven miles north of Jemez Springs, near Valles Caldera National Preserve and Bandelier National Monument.
Keep an eye out for a small parking lot on the side of the road; there is no sign indicating the location of these New Mexico hot springs.

The trail to the hot springs is short, measuring about 0.6 miles.
Although you don't have to go far, we encourage you to be prepared as the hike to these New Mexico hot springs is considered moderately difficult.
Once you arrive at these New Mexico hot springs, you'll find a small pool that can accommodate about a dozen people. Keep in mind that there are days when you'll find just as many visitors (and dogs) lounging around the springs as well.
This place is pretty popular, but if you want a quieter visit, try going to these hot springs in New Mexico on a weekend morning.
