New Mexico is home to some gorgeous, captivating scenery. There are dozens of destinations around the state where you can feel peace, happiness, and excitement. Nambe Falls in the Nambe Pueblo is one of the most beautiful, fascinating, and large double waterfalls in the Land of Enchantment. These captivating waterfalls are located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains about 45 minutes outside of Santa Fe.
Nambe Falls consists of two large waterfalls. The higher waterfall is more than 100-feet tall. The lower waterfall is approximately 75-feet tall.
Two separate trails will lead you to the waterfalls.
Each trail is only 0.25-miles long, but when hiking in the hot New Mexico sun, make sure to come prepared with water, sunscreen, and high-quality shoes.
The first trail will take you above the waterfalls and it will provide you with a spectacular view of both waterfalls.
Be prepared for some steep areas on this short hike.
Be prepared to get a little wet as you climb to the lower falls.
The lower trail will take you to the beach at the base of the lower waterfall. You can spend some time cooling off in the water, have a picnic, and enjoy the rushing of the waterfall at the end of this hike.
Before you venture to Nambe Falls, check ahead of time to ensure the Nambe Pueblo area is open for the season. Also, note that the trails will close at certain times of the day. The park closes its gates at 7 p.m. each night. You can find more information on how to plan your visit by visiting this website.
