Holland is known the world over for its incredible tulip fields but we don't need to travel to Holland to enjoy the colorful blooms. New Jersey has its very own piece of Holland - Holland Ridge Tulip Farms. Located in Cream Ridge, this gorgeous farm is home to over a MILLION colorful tulips.
Each spring, they celebrate the flowers with a fantastic tulip festival. Unfortunately, this year's festival has been canceled due to the stay at home order. And, while we can't visit, we can still enjoy the tulips. The photos below will take your breath away, the video is gorgeous, and the contest Holland Ridge Farms is hosting is a dream come true!
Holland Ridge Farms is a family-owned farm. The Jansen family (headed by Casey Sr.) came to the U.S. from Holland in 1964.
They use Dutch-tulip bulb techniques and bulbs straight from Holland.
Did you know that there are over 3,000 tulip varieties? They grow the classic triumph variety in red, orange, yellow, pink, purple, white, and a selection of bi-colors.
While we can't tour the farm right now, it's not completely closed. You can still order tulips for pickup or delivery.
They've got curbside pickup - 10 stems for $4.99 plus tax, and mystery delivery boxes - 20 stems in two mystery colors delivered anywhere in NJ, NY, PA, CT, MD, DE, MA, RI, NH and VT for $9.99 plus tax and delivery.
Even better, they've got an amazing contest going on right now.
Next week, the Jansen family will be inviting one lucky guest and their “quarantine crew” to witness the beauty of the tulip fields during peak bloom.
The winner + guests from the same household will have exclusive access to frolic in the fields, take photos, pick flowers, and more. PLUS, they'll get 12 bunches of tulips to take home.
You can learn more about the contest here and be sure to check out the video below. Just watching it, we're all winners. The prize? The spectacular scenery at Holland Ridge Farms.
