However, if your favorite pastime at the seashore is collecting as opposed to swimming, we have just the recommendation for you: Bay Head Beach. This quieter beach is home to so much sea glass — an increasing rarity in New Jersey.
Bay Head Beach is one of the loveliest beaches in New Jersey — and it's not nearly as crowded or hectic as other Jersey Shore beaches.
It's located about 70 miles from both Philadelphia and New York City, so you have a mix of residents and out-of-state visitors.
Bay Head Beach is obviously beautiful with a lot going for it, but one of the best parts about it is how good it is for sea glass hunting!
This beach is positively littered with mermaid loot.
Sea glass is exceedingly rare to find in New Jersey, but it seems like there's always a plethora of gems dotting Bay Head Beach.
Sometimes, you can literally see it tumbling in the waves!

A few things to remember, though: Dogs aren't allowed on the beach and badges are required to access the beach during the summer months.
