We all know that a few of New Hampshire state parks are perhaps too popular, with major crowds in the summer and impossible waits to get campsites. And granted, those parks are all beautiful and popular for good reason. But if you'd like something a little more low-key, there's on park in New Hampshire that inexplicably doesn't get all the love it deserves. We think that's a mistake – read on to find out why!
Pillsbury State Park in Washington has ponds, marshland, forest, and some of the most gorgeous campsites you can find in the Granite State.
You'll find meandering streams, beautiful lookouts, and all sorts of places to stop and admire nature if you visit this lovely spot.
The park is criss-crossed with all of the hiking trails you could dream of – you certainly won't grow bored of exploring here. There are plenty of campsites, too – they're considered primitive, with pit toilets, though they do have running water.
11 out of the park's 41 campsites are are only accessible by boat or by foot, making them particularly amazing when you want to get away from it all. Imagine relaxing in that chair for a few hours! Just don't forget the sunscreen.

The park's ponds are perfect for paddling — and if you don't have your own canoe or kayak, you'll find some here available for rent.
This park is gorgeous in all seasons – from the lush greenery of summer to the faded reds and oranges of fall.
