New Hampshire has a lot to offer when it comes to finding great places to go swimming. The ocean and the lakes are great, but there is nothing as special as discovering hidden swimming holes in New Hampshire, where you can pack a picnic and spend the day relaxing and jumping in the water with the people you love. Here are 10 swimming holes in New Hampshire that you have to visit this summer.
1. Pemigewasset River, Woodstock
The Pemigewasset River has some great swimming holes scattered along it, including a sandy beach in Campton. In Woodstock, the river's current pulls you over the smooth rocks of a natural water slide.
2. Connecticut River, Hanover
A few years ago Hanover cut down the official Dartmouth rope swing, but suffice to say that college students and other locals still claim the Connecticut River as their favorite swimming hole.
3. Rocky Gorge, Albany
Rocky Gorge isn't for the timid. This cliff jump is exhilarating but also a bit dangerous. If you prefer a slower pace, there are much less scary sections of the river just downstream. 4. White Lake, Tamworth
This state park is popular but for good reason. The sandy beach and facilities make this a perfect swimming hole for families.
5. First Bridge, North Conway
The Saco River is super popular with swimmers, floaters, and boaters, and First Bridge is where it all begins.
6. Diana's Baths, Conway
Nothing is better than swimming in a waterfall, and Diana's Baths provide some of the most beautiful swimming opportunities in the state. You wouldn't want to go swimming during the time of this Adventuring in the Moment video but check it out to see how amazing the cascading water looks in the early spring.
7. The Swift River
Don't be scared off by the name. The Swift River is an extremely popular place, with multiple swimming holes with easy access off the Kangamagus Highway.
8. Lonesome Lake, Lincoln
This lake is popular with hikers and when you arrive you'll understand why. You'll be swimming in the mountain tops.
9. Emerald Pool, Chatham
This mountain pool is popular for swimming and rock jumping. It is just off the popular Baldface Loop trail and can be busy during the summer.
