If there’s one thing that’s true about New Hampshire, it’s that there are certainly no shortage of beautiful hiking trails just waiting for you to explore. No matter what type of scenery you’re looking for, New Hampshire has a trail offering just that, and that’s just one of the reasons we love the Granite State. There’s one short and sweet hike in particular that the whole family will love, and it leads to a beautiful waterfall that’s simply mesmerizing. Lace-up those boots, because today we’re taking a look at the Rainbow Falls trail in Plymouth.
Located within the Walter-Newton Natural Area, the Rainbow Falls trail is an easy hike that offers some truly gorgeous scenery along the way.
The trailhead and parking area are located on Cummings Hill Road in Plumouth, New Hampshire.
This hike offers a little bit of everything, and it’s a great hike for beginners and families with little ones.
While beautiful year round, the trail truly transforms during the winter.
After a snowfall, the fresh powder makes for a peaceful and quiet hike that’s ideal for anyone looking to check out for a bit and be surrounded by New Hampshire’s natural beauty.
The main attraction to the Walter-Newton Natural area is Rainbow Falls.
Fed by Grove Hollow Brook, the 20-foot waterfall is best visited in the spring, but honestly, it’s beautiful any day of the year, especially if there has just been a storm and the waterfall is cascading.
If you haven't already, add this beautiful hike to your list this year!
