Exploring New Hampshire's waterfalls is one of the best ways to remember just why we're so lucky to spend time here! Tall and flowing or part of a larger river system, there are lots of different falls to enjoy, and finding them is all part of the fun. But, a long hike isn't always something we have the time (or ambition!) to tackle and it's sometimes tiresome to keep googling "waterfalls near me." That's why we love that there are waterfalls here that are so easy to access, all you need is a car and a place to park. Like Pollard's Mill Falls!
To take in the lovely and highly underrated Pollard's Mill Falls, head to Newport in Sullivan County.
The waterfall is comprised of an 18-foot cascade that falls into a swimming hole below.
The pool, which is clear and cool, is a big attraction in this region so expect to meet some crowds on warm, sunny days.
The waterfall gets its name from the lumber mill, grist mill, and peg mill that once stood on the property. If you do some exploring you can even find the remnants of a mill built in 1797 below the falls. It was washed out by a flood in 1919.
The property here is privately owned and all visitors are asked to be as respectful as possible to ensure that the public has access for years to come.
The property owner even maintains a small nature trail here encouraging visits by people who love the natural surroundings of the Granite State.
This waterfall is beautiful all on its own, but we really love that it can be accessed and viewed from the parking lot.
Simply drive in, park, and choose to explore or take it all in from your vehicle.
Pollard's Mill Falls might not be the tallest or largest, but it offers hours of fun and beauty.
Pollard's Mill Falls is located on private property, but the landowner encourages exploration and swimming. Always explore carefully and responsibly. If you're on the hunt for even more of the best waterfalls in New Hampshire, we've got you covered. These eight easy-access New Hampshire waterfalls are perfect for a summer adventure!
