Not only is Franconia Notch State Park perfect for nature lovers, but it’s also a fisherman’s paradise, a popular spot for rock climbers, and cyclists love the trails, too.

So no matter how you like to spend your time in nature, Franconia Notch State Park has got you covered.

Echo Lake is always great for a little fishing or a quick swim.

With gorgeous views of Lafayette and Cannon Mountains, it’s easy to see why this lake is popular for fishing and boating.

For a jaw-dropping view of the park, take the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway.

It was the first passenger aerial tramway in North America, and it’s been in operation since 1938. During your 8-minute ride to the top of the 4,080-foot summit, you enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.

One of the main attractions to Franconia Notch State Park is Flume Gorge.

Be sure to have some comfortable shoes to tackle this hike.

The Flume is a natural 800-foot long gorge that’s open from May — November.

It was discovered in 1808 by Jess Guernesey who came across it by accident while she was fishing.

As you walk through the gorge, you’ll be surrounded by 80-foot granite walls.

The walk to the top is mesmerizing, though a little claustrophobic. The space between the granite ranges from 12-20 feet. but just wait till you get to the top.

At the top of the gorge you’ll find Avalanche Falls.

This beautiful waterfall clocks in at 45 feet and is one of the most beautiful in the state.

Of course, there are plenty of wide open trails that offer splended views, too.

There are miles of trails throughout the park, each one varying in length so you can mix and match to fit your schedule.
