Aside from an entire lobster bake and maybe a huge cake all for you, is there anything better in a home than freshly cut flowers? We say no and that's why in our dream world every day includes a new bouquet on the table. While we can't exactly make that happen, we can try to have this every few weeks. All it takes is a visit to this farm where you'll not only leave with fresh flowers, but you'll be able to choose each and every one of them!
Spring Ledge Farm in New London has been family operated since they started more than 30 years ago.
The farm is at the center of the community, offering everything from strawberries to flowers to corn and everything in between.
Visiting just to see what they have available is always fun, but we especially love when they open for visitors to pick their own flowers.
The garden here has just about anything you might want.
They've got tons of things that are great for the casual vase.
But if it's a specific occasion for which you're picking you'll appreciate that they have things like tulips and sunflowers.
It's easy to create something ornate. In fact, this is a great place to visit if you need something special for a wedding.
They also offer simple picks. Just need something to add some color to a room? A few blooms are just the thing!
The flowers are certainly the prize, but choosing and cutting what you'd like is just as great!
If you visit on a sunny day, the activity might even be better than the flowers themselves!
Spring Ledge Farm is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. That's a lot, but remember that we don't choose the hours, we just pass 'em on to you! The cost for pick-your-own is $16.95 per pound. You can learn more by visiting their website or following them on Facebook. They can be reached at 603-526-6253.
