New Hampshire is home to 93 state parks, but when it comes to stunning hiking trails, Crawford Notch State Park is the place to go. With over 250 miles of hiking trails across 34 highly rated trails, this park has a little bit of everything for you to explore.
If you are in need of some fresh air and a change of scenery, there’s plenty to be had in Crawford Notch State Park.
The park offers 5,775 acres of incredible beauty to explore. You’ll find hiking trails, waterfalls, fishing, and more in this hideaway in the White Mountain National Forest.
Many come to hike this area just for the mountain views.
There are plenty of easy, short hikes that can just get your legs moving. You’ll even find hikes under one mile, like the Saco Lake and Elephant Head Trail, which is .7 miles total and an easy 20 minute stroll.
Some of the hikes will take you to stunning waterfalls.
Arethusa Falls is one of the most popular hikes in this state park. It’s a moderate hike, less than three miles, and the views at the end are worth every step.
If you’re looking for a challenge, there are 19 hard trails in this area.
The trails range from 4 miles to just over 20 miles in length. You’ll find hikes that rack up over 4,685 feet of elevation gain.
This is a wonderful area to get the whole family out of the house to explore.
You’ll want to spend the whole day here, so pack a picnic! And don’t forget your camera so you can capture some of the most stunning vistas to be seen in New Hampshire.

The parking lots are currently open and available with plenty of spots for you to utilize.
