There's nothing like summer in New Hampshire, but fall is certainly the next best thing. In fact, if you love comfortable hikes, cozy weather, and beautiful views there might not be a better time to get outside here. Fall foliage surrounds everyone who ventures out and the best way to enjoy it is on a fun hike. This one, leading to Bridal Veil Falls In New Hampshire offers a particularly beautiful way to experience the season here in the Granite State.
Bridal Veil Falls is a beautiful waterfall in the White Mountains. A visit any time of year is spectacular, but fall offers something special.
The best way to see it is via the 2.5-mile Coppermine Trail, but you can also reach it using the Bridal Veil Falls Trail, which is a bit longer at 4 miles.
If you take the Coppermine Trail, you'll begin at Coppermine Road off Easton Road. Head down Coppermine Road, passing Beechwood Road on the left. Just after Beechwood Road, you'll see the trailhead on the left. It's not marked well, but once you begin you'll see the appropriate signs to let you know you're on the right track.
The trail is well-maintained. While it's graded at "moderate," most folks say this is a pretty simple route with not a ton of elevation gain.
This time of year the fall colors are in full effect and the brook near the trail will be easily heard.
Depending on what time you do the hike, things will feel misty and other-worldly.
But you might not notice that as much as the beautiful fall colors.
The tall trees will encase you in color!
Be sure to check the fall foliage forecast to make sure you time your visit with peak season! This waterfall is at its best this time of year.
The Bridal Veil Falls Trail is a great way to see fall colors in New Hampshire. It can be accessed any time of year, though I especially love it during the fall foliage season. Other visitors suggest that it's best between May and October. This route is considered moderately challenging, so it's best to have some hiking experience before heading out. You'll also want to tell someone where you're going and when you plan to be back. And, always make sure you have the right gear for your trip. I always bring layers with me, just in case. Most importantly, feel free to bring along the pups, but be sure to keep them on a leash.
For more information about visiting the White Mountain Nationa Forest check out the official U.S. Forest Service website. To learn more about the trail and for help planning your visit check out the Bridal Veil Falls page on AllTrails.
Love New Hampshire in the fall? There's more where this came from! After enjoying this hike, head out on a road trip to see some of the best fall foliage in the state.
