Beaches usually aren't the first thing that come to mind when people think of Nevada. However, our state is home to a countless number of beautiful lake beaches that will rival any coastal ocean beach. Specifically, the aptly named Nevada Beach located on the shores of Lake Tahoe is one of the best in the state. This one-of-a-kind beach will make you realize that we may live in a landlocked state, but by no means does that mean we can't live it up on a fantastic beach! As summer approaches, make it your goal to visit this truly unique beach that's unlike any other in the world.
Taking up half a mile of Lake Tahoe's pristine shoreline is the utterly gorgeous Nevada Beach. You'll find it on the southeast shore of the lake, on Elks Point Road near Zephyr Cove.
This place will make you forget that you're in Nevada, and instead you'll be transported to a Carribbean-esque area where the water is a bright blue and the shore is composed of beautiful white sand. If it weren't for the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the background, you might really believe you're actually on a tropical island!
This beach is unlike any other because it uniquely combines two types of ecosystems. On the beach you'll see dozens upon dozens of towering pine trees like the ones pictured here. A beach like this could really only exist here in Nevada.
It's no wonder this beach is considered a prime swimming location. With incredibly clear turquoise water, Nevada Beach is simply gorgeous. The water is nice and cold, making it perfect for a hot summer's day.
You could spend all day on the beach from sunrise to sundown and never get bored. Be sure to explore one of the nearby hiking trails like the Lam Watah Nature Trail which provides 2.6 miles of scenic views around the lake.
You'll find plenty of amenities in the area, such as magnificent barbecuing areas complete with picnic tables and shaded areas. Kayak rentals and concession areas are also available on-site.
If you do decide to spend a day at Nevada Beach, show your appreciation for this wonderful area by keeping it clean. The beach's pristine, unspoiled quality is what makes it such a special place to visit.
