The official start of spring is March 19 but we've been feeling the spring spirit for weeks now. Many of Nevada's landscapes have already begun the transformation that takes place every year as the weather warms up, and we simply can't wait for the rest of the state to follow suit. These eight photos show that spring in Nevada is absolutely divine, full of vibrant colors and everchanging landscapes. For many, spring is the preferred time of year to get out and complete some adventurers, so let these photos inspire you to do the same!
1. The Jarbidge Wilderness is one of the wildest and most untamed landscapes in all of Nevada. It's grandiose as ever during the springtime, when the area comes alive with vibrant green hills and blooming wildflowers. In fact, there are 60 varieties of wildflowers hiding within the Jarbidge Wilderness!
2. Nevada's Carson Valley is heavenly no matter what time of year it is, but it takes on an extraordinary quality during spring. Even if the mountains are still covered in snow, the agricultural area exudes life as the valley turns bright green.
3. It's amazing how quickly a landscape can transform after the snow melts. This photo of a meadow in the Lake Tahoe Basin near Carson City looks downright tranquil with a bright blue sky and tons of healthy green foliage!
4. Yes, even the desert comes to life come springtime. Red Rock Canyon's landscape is always stunning and spring is the perfect time to explore it. The temperatures are great during this time of year, and the scenery never fails to amaze.
5. Lake Tahoe's waters are a refreshingly crisp retreat on a hot summer's day thanks to the snowmelt that occurs every spring season. Surrounded by snow-covered mountains, spring is definitely an underrated time of year to visit this iconic lake.
6. Nevada's Lamoille Canyon is a destination that's rich with wildlife, wildflowers, and scenery that seems to never end. Spring is an especially magical time to visit it as the canyon's lush valleys transform in front of your eyes.
7. Stretching right through the city of Reno before emptying into Pyramid Lake, the beloved Truckee River is a hot spot of recreation. As spring approaches, the river turns into a tranquil oasis. A majestic sunset just adds to the magical atmosphere!
8. Desert wildflowers provide amazing contrast to the fiery landscape of Nevada's Valley of Fire State Park. Spring is the perfect time to explore this popular destination just outside of Las Vegas.
