Do you know what's the best part of going on a Nevada adventure? Soaking in one of our state's hot springs at the end of the day. We're pretty lucky to live in a state that's home to more than 300 glorious hot springs. The question is: Which one to soak in next? If you haven't yet visited the little-known hot spring featured here, then you'll want to ASAP. This place is unique because it's located in the middle of nowhere (literally) and unlike many hot springs, it's not a pool. In fact, this spot would most accurately be described as a hot spring creek. The greatest part? You'll probably have it all to yourself. Take a look:
You'll find Bog Hot Springs hiding within rural northern Nevada, right up by the Oregon-Nevada border.
This has got to be one of the most remote hot springs in the state, so prepare for a relaxing experience that is second to none.
This is an area of Nevada that is rarely traversed.
When people do find themselves driving through this landscape, they usually don't take the time to explore the hidden gems that this region of the state boasts.
The hot spring is located approximately 14 miles west of Denio Junction.
You'll definitely want to depart with plenty of fuel, food, and water since this area is so remote. However, once you see the spring you'll realize that the long trek was definitely worth it.
The majority of Nevada's hot springs that you'll come across resemble small pools.
Bog Hot Springs is unique because it resembles more of a creek. You'll find that the creek has been dammed in certain places to create pools that are wonderful for soaking in.
If the scenery doesn't immediately transport you to paradise, the water will.
The hottest part of the creek is temped at around 120 degrees (much too hot for soaking), but the water becomes cooler as you move downstream. Simply stake out the portion of the creek with your ideal temperature.
The hot spring is as natural as they come.
You won't spot any man-made amenities here. There's absolutely nothing to come in between you and the stunning Nevada landscape.
If you do decide to visit Bog Hot Springs, be sure to practice good adventure etiquette with the "pack out what you pack in" method.
It's places like this that prove that Nevada is truly an adventurer's paradise, and we'd like to keep it that way.
