Unlike some of the other regions in our country that you may travel to, Nevada isn't a state that has a large abundance of waterfalls. While visitors will be able to find other kinds of outdoor attractions that are worth visiting, those who live in Carson City know that there's actually a hidden oasis right here in our state.
Have time to take a quick adventure? Let's hope so, because everyone must visit this epic waterfall as soon as possible:
Not far from Lake Tahoe, you'll find a quick and relatively easy trail that will lead you someplace wonderful.
How to get here: click here to view the map pictured above, showing you where to park and the trail you'll take.
Bonus: With Google Street View, you can actually virtually explore the entire trail before you go!
Once you park your car, you can take the time to read the informational signs posted around the trailhead.
Make your way up the stairs and you'll begin your adventure! At the Kings Canyon Falls trails, you have the option of taking the quick hike that brings you directly to the waterfall or you can take a longer, more strenuous hike that brings you up and around the falls.
The hike to the falls is one explored by adventurers of all ages, generally rated as a moderate trail.
Like we said above, it's a definite bonus that you can explore the entire trail on Google Street View beforehand. Knowing the trail and seeing where you'll be exploring is always useful! A useful tip we'll give you is that this trail can sometimes be quite narrow, so watch your step as always!
Before you know it, you'll reach Kings Canyon Falls!
While the waterfall doesn't actually form a pool at its base, the water remains cold and refreshing to those who come and explore the area. The beautiful and unexpectedly scenic attraction is an overlooked gem of our state. There's nothing better than enjoying this fresh pop of green in the desert!
