1. Foster Falls
Foster Falls is located in Sequatchie, Tennessee, just outside of Chattanooga in South Cumberland State Park. The waterfall plunges 60 feet into the crystal clear pool below, surrounded by mountain laurel and azaleas and found by way of an easy hike to the top of the falls.
2. Cummins Falls
Located in Cookeville, Cummins Falls may just be one of the most popular waterfalls amongst those in the Nashville area. It's easy to get there, at roughly 90 minutes from the city, and Cummins Falls State Park holds the key to a gorgeous 75-foot waterfall that plunges into a swimming hole below.
3. Burgess Falls
Burgess Falls is located in the aptly named Burgess Falls State Park, and it's known for its incredible natural beauty and the 250-foot cascade of water that plunges from the heights of the river above to the forest floor beneath. It's a day use park, and at only ninety minutes from Nashville, it's a great spot for a quick hike and a few shots of the waterfall.
4. Fall Creek Falls
Fall Creek Falls is actually the highest free-fall waterfall on the east side of the Mississippi River, falling 256 feet to the base of an incredible gorge. This Spencer, Tennessee beauty can be found after hiking a short trail from the trailhead parking lot to the base of the waterfall's plungepool.
5. Cane Creek Cascades
Located in Fall Creek Falls State Park, Cane Creek Cascades are easy to visit via a quick hike and it's a much more petite waterfall at 30 feet. The neat part about this waterfall, however, is that you can even stand beneath them if you'd rather. Make sure you're careful, though! Hike around the waterfall at your own risk, folks.
6. Virgin Falls
Virgin Falls trail is a full nine miles, and it culminates in the gorgeous Virgin Falls, a natural water feature that's made up of four waterfalls and numerous tributaries. It's a gorgeous view, and one of the most unique in the state.
7. Ozone Falls
This Crossville, Tennessee beauty has been named one of the best waterfalls on the Cumberland Plateau, plunging 110 feet into a crystal clear pool below. Ozone Falls has been used in the filming of the move "Jungle Book" for its incredible beauty and the natural "amphitheater" of rock that surrounds the falls.
