It's summertime in the south, and that means no matter the three-digit heat all of us in Nashville are looking to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Sure, our humidity can get a bit nasty come August, but all that means is that you're going to have to cool off with a frozen margarita on a southern rooftop. Sounds pretty dreamy, don't you think? Here are seven of our favorite rooftop bars in the area, but if we missed your favorite? Leave it in the comments below!
7. Rare Bird - 200 Fourth Avenue N.
Rare Bird is a rooftop bar and lounge that opened atop the Noelle building in downtown. It's just a stone's throw from the ever-popular Printer's Alley, and it's a great place to visit on a date or for happy hour to unwind from the day. Plus, can you imagine spending an evening in a prettier place? We can't!
6. Bobby Hotel - 230 4th Ave North
The Bobby Hotel is a boutique hotel experience in the heart of Nashville, and is home to four different eateries. Although you can choose from an outdoor cafe or a fancy restaurant, we'd recommend heading upstairs for their bar and rooftop lounge experience. You're welcome to pay a visit whether you're a guest or not, and we'd highly recommend it.
5. UP, a Rooftop Lounge - 901 Division Street
Up, a rooftop lounge is located high in the Gulch neighborhood. It was designed to exhume a Manhattan dining experience from the heart of the south. Make sure to take a solid look at that drink menu for fun and fresh ingredients, and there's a whole lot to look forward to from their French-trained chefs on staff.
4. Dierks Whiskey Row - 400 Broadway
This infamous Nashville gastropub is known for its bumpin' nightlife and attractiveness to tourists and city newbies. Famed country singer Dierks Bentley was at the helm of its Music City initiation, and the indulgent menu items and rock 'n roll edge make this a fun spot to visit when you're feeling a little more like a party.
3. Acme Feed & Seed - 101 Broadway
Acme is a favorite for business folk during the lunch hours and the rest of the city once five o'clock rolls around. There are multiple stories of eating space but we'd recommend heading up to the second floor, the one with a stunning view from the bar. You'll find creative, southern-inspired eats on the menu (who can say no to hot chicken tacos?!) and you'll want to check their calendar for locally hosted events.
2. The George Jones - 128 2nd Ave N
Wait, the George Jones Museum?!?! Yes, the very same George Jones Museum has a rooftop bar that offers up an eatery and drink menu that will perfectly complement your solid history lesson experienced below.
1. LA Jackson - 401 11th Ave S
LA Jackson is the crown jewel of the Gulch neighborhood, a swanky rooftop bar that's perched atop the Thompson Hotel. This is where you come for happy hour and celebrations, where you can enjoy an anniversary drink just as easily as a thank-goodness-it's-Friday margarita. Cheers!
