Tennessee has so many beautiful nature trails and hikes that sometimes it's overwhelming to choose just one! Most folks tend to pick a favorite and stick to it, experiencing their same, favorite space over and over again out of ease and comfort. We understand the beauty of having a part of Tennessee all to yourself, but we're here to break you out of the same ol' same ol'. Cheeks Bend Bluff View Trail, located in the Duck River Complex State Natural Area, may be your new go-to!
Cheeks Bend Bluff View Trail is located roughly an hour outside of Nashville in Columbia, Tennessee.
The 1.9-mile trail is a loop, one that features the Duck River and is considered "easy" by the hiking community. It's great for folks of all ages!
Most visitors to the Duck River Natural Area use it for hiking, birding, walking and even highly informative nature trips. Can you bring Fido? Of course! Just make sure man's best friend is on a leash.
With a gradual elevation gain of 252 feet, the trail adds just enough intensity for a good workout. The beautiful scenery will make you forget you're even exercising!
Locals rave about the river views and caves on the property, as well as how lightly trafficked the trail is. This is where you come for peace and quiet instead of fighting the hordes up at Radnor Lake. Cheeks Bend Bluff View Trail is still a local hidden gem!
Keep your eyes peeled for parking spots since the lot itself is a bit underwhelming. Also, since the trail is open all year long, make sure to bring the correct footwear for slippery situations, perhaps post-rainshower or during the wintertime.
Have you hiked the Cheeks Bend Bluff View Trail? Would you visit for yourself? Make your way to the Duck River State Natural Area for a beautiful hike in the great outdoors.
If you're looking for more information, including directions and facility options, make sure to visit the park's official website.
