Yellowstone Hot Springs is located in Gardiner, less than 10 miles from the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park.
This is a popular place during tourist season. But in the winter, it's quiet and peaceful.
The current facility opened in March of 2019, although the history of the springs goes back much further.
Julius J. LaDuke, a French-Canadian immigrant, was the first to discover the hot springs while he was looking for his mining fortune. Instead, he built a series of riverbank hot tubs, the first mineral hot springs near Yellowstone. That little resort served mining communities that are now long gone.
This property changed hands several times before the current owners purchased it in 2018.
In 1909, the Corwin Springs Hotel was constructed next to the springs, but it burned down less than a decade later. It was also known as Eagle’s Nest Dude Ranch until 1940.
These days, Yellowstone Hot Springs is a relaxing, breathtaking break from reality.
