Montana may not be a coastal state, but that doesn't mean we don't have some gorgeous beaches. In fact, some of our beaches are even better than anything you'll find on the coast. Whitefish's City Beach is particularly ocean-like, complete with a sandy shoreline. But in some ways, spending a day here feels better than being at the actual ocean.

Whitefish City Beach has a public dock, a designated swimming area, docks, gazebos, and picnic tables.
Boat rentals are available in the summertime, as long as you keep them away from the designated swimming area.
