The best way to bask in the beauty of Montana is to get out and explore one of its many hiking trails. You don't need to be an expert hiker; there are plenty of trails around the state that are suitable even for beginners. Triple Tree Trail is an easy-peasy hike that offers up some beautiful views.
You'll find Triple Tree Trail in Bozeman, just south of the downtown area.
There's a parking lot on Sourdough Road, just south of the Triple Tree Ranch Owners Center.
The trail is 5.1 miles, out and back, and it starts with a flat section that takes you through some rural farmland.
You'll enjoy a few tree-lined, shady spots, but much of the trail is sun-exposed, so make sure to slather on the sunscreen and bring along a hat.
Limestone Creek is a burbling, babbling little brook that adds a pleasant, natural soundtrack to the trail. You'll cross it several times along the way.
As the trail begins to climb up the side of Mount Ellis, it gains some elevation, but it's fairly gradual.
During summer months and even into early fall, you'll enjoy the colorful blooms of wildflowers on the hillside.

The trail loops around, then you'll head back the same way you came. If you're new to hiking, allow several hours to complete this trail, and make sure to bring plenty of water and a few snacks.
