Montana is so beautiful this time of year -- and we don't just mean all the fall foliage. Whether you prefer pumpkin patches, apple picking, or getting lost in a corn maze, this is a great time to visit a local farm. These five are open to the public and well worth checking out.
1. SweetRoot Farm, 76 Bell Ln, Hamilton
SweetRoot Farm is owned by Noah and Mary, who are very passionate about farming. You can visit anytime (seriously, they stress on their website), and pay by cash or check. They sell eggs and produce as long as they can, usually until mid-November.
2. Applestem Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, 283 US Highway 89, Vaughn
If you're looking for a more interactive experience, head to Vaughn and check this place out. During the day, the pumpkin patch and corn maze will keep you busy, and on weekend nights, the maze is haunted.
3. Rocky Creek Farm,
34297 Frontage Road,
Bozeman
Care for some fresh pressed cider or produce purchased directly from the source? The farm stand at Rocky Creek Farm is open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and every autumn they have a pumpkin patch and hay rides.
4. Red Hen Farm, 3803 Spurgin Road, Missoula
Not only does Red Hen offer an amazing Farmers Market every Friday, but they're a fantastic fall destination. Their pumpkin patch is perfect for a fall day.
5. Lifeline Creamery & Farm Store, 2427 Meridian Road,
Victor
Need some farm fresh butter, cheese, or milk in your life? Lifeline Creamery & Farm Store is open from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday - Saturday, and it's especially beautiful this time of year.
These are some of Montana's finest farms. For another quintessential autumn experience, visit one of our apple orchards.
