Some restaurants are simply deserving of the compliments they receive. We've talked about Montana's underrated eateries before, and today we're singing the praises of some of our better-known restaurants that serve delicious food. Enjoy!
1. Sir Scott's Oasis Steakhouse & Lounge, 204 W Main St., Manhattan
EDITOR'S NOTE: Unfortunately, Sir Scott's Oasis has permanently closed its doors."The Oasis" just might be the most famous steakhouse in Montana, and for good reason. The dinners are delicious, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is pure Montana.
2. Land of Magic Dinner Club, 11060 Front St., Logan
Land of Magic is right up the street from Sir Scott's Oasis, but when it comes to the steaks, this place can hold its own. Don't pass up a chance to try their twice baked potatoes.
3. Rod's Drive-In, 1827 5th Ave., Havre
Havre's favorite burger joint is always worth the drive. If anything, the infamous Ugly Burger is underrated.
4. The Burger Dive, 114 N 27th St., Billings
By now, most people in Billings know that this is the best place to go for a tasty burger. The Burger Dive is locally famous for a reason - it never disappoints.
5. The Montana Club, Missoula, Kalispell, Great Falls, Butte, Billings
The Montana Club was opened by two Montana natives, and these days our most beloved local chain can be found in five cities. Their classic American entrees and tempting desserts have a great reputation that spans the state.
6. Biga Pizza, 241 W. Main St., Missoula
Just look at this scrumptious pie. No wonder Big Pizza is one of the most locally loved establishments in Missoula. They've won numerous local awards and have been featured in some pizza-positive publications.
7. Stockyard Cafe, 1018 E Griffin Dr., Bozeman
This seasonal breakfast joint in Bozeman has earned quite a reputation. They're so famous they have their own merchandise, as well as some pretty amazing rules, such as: "Lick your fork clean, makes it easier to wash."
8. Plonk, Missoula and Bozeman
Since opening their wine bars in Missoula and Bozeman, Plonk has earned a reputation as an excellent date night spot and a place to enjoy fine dining and great wine with friends. It has become a beloved hot spot in two of our most urban areas.
9. The Huckleberry Patch, 8868 US Highway 2 E, Hungry Horse
Half gift shop, half bakery and restaurant, the Huckleberry Patch is the perfect place to stop on your way to and from Glacier National Park for the best huckleberry pie on the planet.
10. The Jersey Lilly, 105 Main St. Ingomar
Rich in local history, charming and quirky (with arguably the best baked beans in Montana), the Jersey Lilly is a must-see for every Montanan.
