As fall arrives slowly in some areas of the country, it often feels like Montana gets it fairly early. While I love the summer, you'll hear no complaints from me as we get closer and closer to cozy, warm evenings at home. In addition to earlier sunset and chillier temps, another sure sign of the encroaching change of seasons is the onslaught of all things pumpkin. We're not here to judge those who like a perfectly spiced pumpkin beverage, but if you prefer the real thing, we have a few options for those who want to explore the best pumpkin patches in Montana.
1. Meadowlark Farm, Hamilton
Meadowlark Farm offers plenty of fun for the whole family during Fall in Montana. This is a great pumpkin patch near me, so I can attest to the fact that you're sure to have a great time. Enjoy the bounce house, then leave with a decorative stalk and your very own pumpkin. They're open every day of the week until the end of October. You can visit Monday through Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
2. Sweet Pickin's Pumpkin Patch, Kalispell
This adorable spot and family-friendly destination is one of the best pumpkin patches in Montana. They've been around as a family business since 2002 and offer rides for kids and lots of snacks. One of the most popular draws is their incredible kettle corn. Don't forget to set aside some time to enjoy the massive jumping pillow, too! There's an admission fee for certain rides, so be sure to plan what you want to do ahead of time. They'll be open until the end of October.
3. Applestem Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, Craig
The corn maze and pumpkin patch at Applestem Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch are perfect for those who have a serious love of all things autumn. Both are open until October 27th, which gives you plenty of time to try the maze over and over again until you get it right. Just be sure to start this fun activity to do during Fall in Montana as soon as you can!
4. Rocky Creek Farm, Bozeman
The fact that this is a working farm makes this one of the best places to go when you're in the area and wonder, "Where is there a pumpkin patch near me?." If you time your visit right, you might also have the opportunity to pick some fall raspberries too. Also, be sure to check out their working cider press during Fall in Montana.
5. Beaverhead Maze and Pumpkin Patch, Dillon
If you love your pumpkin patches to include a dose of the spooky, this is the spot for you. Beaverhead Maze and Pumpkin Patch are open Thursdays through Sundays from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. throughout October. Admission is $7 and they also have a great concession stand for snacks.
