Sat at the "headwaters of the Current River," Montauk State Park is known for a few things, including its fish hatchery and beautiful blue spring.
Those who enjoy fishing flock to this breathtaking Missouri state park, which is ideal for catching rainbow trout.
When you're not fishing, explore the spacious state park on foot or by bike. Three trails wander through the state park.
Bring your camera so you can snap photos of local wildlife.
You'll find picnic tables scattered throughout the park that also features playgrounds for the kiddos. The on-site lodge also has a restaurant.
Chances are a day just won't be enough to experience all that this Missouri state park has to offer. Pitch a tent; rent a cabin, or reserve a room at the park's motel.
If you visit during open hours, stop by the historic grist mill for a tour. The mill dates back to the late 1890s and offers a fascinating glimpse into the rich history of the Ozarks.
March through October annually is a busy time at this Missouri State Park. A wide range of interpretive programs are held during this period. You can find a schedule of events on bulletin boards at the lodge, campground, and picnic areas.
