Bring plenty of water and sunscreen along when you visit Bonnie View Nature Sanctuary, a natural oasis hidden in the bustling town of Columbia.
At 92.5 acres, this Missouri nature sanctuary is best explored on its 3.3-mile Scott Branch Trail. Although it scores an easy rating, there are some inclines.
Journey along the path that promises spellbinding views of a prairie restoration area. You definitely don't want to forget your camera.
After all, you never know what wildlife you'll see. Deer, squirrels, and rabbits wander through the sanctuary.
Keep an eye out for the birds that live in the sanctuary, too. Feeding wildlife and birds is not allowed.
Most consider this just a stroll through the park. However, be sure to stay on the path, so you don't disturb plant life off the trail.
Bikes are not permitted on the trails.
If you need a break, take a breather on one of the benches.
Please note that picnicking is only allowed at the picnic tables in the shelter.
Bring a picnic along, and enjoy a meal at the picnic shelter. The kiddos will have a blast at the playground right by the shelter.
