Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden in Springfield is one of those gems that, if you don't know about it, will quickly rise to the top of the list of your favorite destinations. Nestled in Springfield Botanical Gardens, Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden sprawls across 7.5 lush acres, a tranquil spot that first opened in 1985.
The stroll garden, known as the oldest attraction at Springfield Botanical Gardens, provides an idyllic setting for a few hours or a day among nature.

Numerous footbridges and stepping stones that allow you to cross over a pond.
You'll even pass a cascading waterfall, a koi pond, a moon bridge, and a tea house. Carve out time for quiet reflection, too, at the meditation garden.
Take your time and enjoy every moment of your experience. If you need a break, grab a seat on one of the stone benches.
Keep an eye out for wildlife - from frogs to turtles sunning themselves - as you stroll through the garden.
Mizumoto Japanese Garden also offers private tours, hosts weddings, and sells annual passes for photographers. The Springfield Sister Cities Association's Japanese Fall Festival is also held at the garden.
Admission to the fairy tale garden is $4 for adults and $2 for children between the ages of three and 12.
