For a really unforgettable adventure, sign up for one of the animal encounters.
A memorable day awaits at Lazy L Safari Park, in Cape Girardeau, a cozy zoo that's home to more than 50 species of animals and family-friendly attractions.
Don't forget your camera for your journey through the safari park, where you'll see such animals as alligators, lemurs, camels, tortoises, and parrots.
Keep an eye on the schedule, too, so you can join one of the Zookeeper Talks, and learn more about the zoo's popular residents. (Talks are on Saturdays and Sundays in the summer.)
For a one-of-a-kind experience, sign up for one of the animal encounters. (An additional fee applies.) You can meet a sloth, a lemur, an alligator, or a python.
During the sloth encounter, for example, you'll spend 15 minutes with the absolutely adorable, Mo, who loves posing for photos. Ruby the lemur, on the other hand, loves cuddles.
You can pet the alligator, and have the python wrap around your arm or your neck for an unforgettable experience and one-of-a-kind photos.
The zoo offers a host of attractions, too. Stop by the Parakeet Jungle; buy a feedstick; and make some new feathered friends. You can also purchase food for select animals throughout the park.
Lazy L Safari Park also hosts birthday parties and school field trips.
The kiddos will love mining for gems while a stop at the gift shop is a must, so you can stock up on souvenirs.
