The Kansas City Salt Mine isn't actually a mine, though it does carry a lot of salt. They practice halotherapy, which uses atmosphere and large amounts of rock salt to alleviate stress, sinus problems, and more. Himalayan salt rocks are pretty popular, but why not hang out in a room full of them for a while? This is your chance to check out what all the fuss is about, and see for yourself whether halotherapy in this salt cave works for you. Why not give it a try?
The Kansas City Salt Mine is actually in Lee's Summit, but that's close enough to be part of the KC Metro, so it's right next door to us.
Here, you can use a reclining chair to relax while your body soaks in the atmosphere from the Himalayan salt crystals.
If you prefer a more individual experience, you can try out their salt bed instead.
Relaxing in the chairs is the easy way, or you have the option for sitting directly on the floor. Kids are welcome to come experience halotherapy as well!
For some, it doesn't work much at all. However, many have come back feeling refreshed, and after return trips, they find themselves feeling better all the time. This place is just paradise!
You'll find Kansas City Salt Mine at 3680 NE Akin Dr. Ste. 112, Lee's Summit, Missouri. Or, check out the map below for a better idea of their location.
Have you ever tried halotherapy? Tell us in the comments about how it worked (or didn't work) for you! Afterwards, feel free to check out this canopy walk in Swope Park!
