These five trails located within Kansas City will make you forget you're even in a city! The great outdoors has never looked or felt so good. 1. Swope Trails
This trail is a Kansas City favorite, with more than 13 miles of hiking and biking trails offered. You'll see limestone bluff faces and lush rolling hills. The trail terrain ranges from easy to advanced.

2. William M. Klein Park (Cave Spring)
You never know what you'll find when you're hiking! Well, along these four miles of trails you might come upon remnants of years past. In the early 1900s eight cabins were built by the Ridge family and although they all burned down, the chimneys still stand.

3. Powell Gardens
If it's an escape you're looking for, you'll find it at Powell Gardens, Kansas City's beautiful botanical oasis nestled east of the city. There are different trails you can follow but no doubt, each one will impress you. If you're a person who prefers to take a leisurely pace and you just happen to love flowers, birds, trees, and butterflies, this is the place for you!

4. Kaw Point on the Lewis and Clark Trail
If you're looking for a bit of history while hiking, head to Kaw Point, part of the Lewis and Clark Trail, where the Missouri and Kansas Rivers feed into one another. Gawk at the cityscape looming over the water at this wonderful oasis.

5. Parkville Nature Sanctuary
Just north of Kansas City lies the quaint town of Parkville, where a 115-acre nature sanctuary offers up spectacular views from every angle. Make sure to bring your camera as you won't want to forget the cascading waterfalls!
