Let’s take a stroll back to the good ole days. Back to those summer days when we had no responsibilities and nothing to do but hang out with our friends at the local swimming hole. While we might not be able to turn back the hands of time, we certainly can relive the good old days, at least for a day or two, when we visit The Fugitive Beach in Missouri.
Leisurely days at the local swimming hole are a treasured summer tradition, and The Fugitive Beach, in Rolla, provides the perfect backdrop for some old-fashioned fun.
Swimming in the former quarry, however, is just the beginning of the fun. Meander in the water, as you soak up the sun, on a floating deck chair.
If you’re all about thrills, zip down the huge slides, etched next to the quarry rocks.
You can, of course, sit back and soak up the sun in the sand on your beach towel or your beach chair, or…
Play a game of beach volleyball; join the kiddos in a game of over-sized tic-tac-toe; or jump into the cool water from the diving board.
Bring a picnic for your day at the beach, or grab bite to eat from the Beach Bar & Grill. You’ll find all the summer favorites – from cheeseburgers and nachos to hot dogs and fries.
The Fugitive Beach offers free parking. Admission is $12 for guests 11 and older and $8 for kids 10 and younger.
Soak up the sun all summer long at The Fugitive Beach, open for the season from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The beach is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
